fairies Baker’s provides one of the most extensive collections of Cicely Mary Barker fairies in Ohio. Cicely Mary Barker was a dedicated artist illustrating many children’s books. Famous for her detailed drawings of botanically correct flower fairies, her illustrations helped create over one hundred different fairies representing different flowers, trees, and shrubs. Find a fairy or two that speaks to you and begin your journey to unleash your inner child.

Second only to the fairy selection, Baker’s miniature garden accessories spill from drawers filled with benches, chairs, tables, potted flowers, wagons, carts, fencing, pots, and stepping stones-all in miniature—to inspire an enchanted realm of possibilities.

fairy garden containers Begin your fanciful journey by selecting a container to hold your wonderland. The vessel should be deep enough to allow healthy root growth. We recommend at least four inches of depth. Many plants suited for fairy gardens prefer sun to part sun conditions so soil needs to be deep enough to hold moisture for sunny days.

When selecting plants for your garden choose low growing ground covers, tailing vines and delicate blooming annuals. Iris moss stays low and makes a bright green patch of “lawn.” A few go-to bloomers include Violas, Alyssum, and Thrift. Herbs also work well in fairy gardens by adding texture and color while providing scent and taste to your garden. Creeping and wooly thyme will spread close to the ground and soften edges of the container. Rosemary and scented geraniums can provide vertical aspects as well as fragrance. Pinching herbs for harvest will help you control their size during the summer. fairy garden plants
